Hangzhou Bay Shangyu Economic and Technological Development Zone was founded in 1998 and upgraded to a National Economic and Technological Development Zone in 2013 withthe approval of the State Council. In the list of "2019 Top 30 China ChemicalIndustry Parks" released at the "2019 China Chemical Industry Parkand Industry Development Forum" held in Huizhou, Guangdong Province,Hangzhou Bay Shangyu Economic and Technological Development Zone ranks in the15th place in the list, and has also won the title of "PilotDemonstration Unit of China Intelligent Chemical Industry Parks".
The Development Zone is located in the South Bank ofHangzhou Bay, in the center of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo. The Jiashao Bridgeruns through the Development Zone from north to south. There are two interchanges in the Development Zone, and it is only 1.5 hours’ drive from the DevelopmentZone to Shanghai. With the Hangzhou-Ningbo High-speed Railway open to traffic, itonly takes more than one hour from Shangyu to Shanghai. It is 40 minutes' driveto Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and Ningbo Airport respectively, 84nautical miles to Ningbo Beilun Port and 108 nautical miles to Shanghai Port.The 3000-ton cargo wharf in the Zone has been put into trial operation, and aclosed port with an annual throughput of 10 million tons is under planning.
